- <p> "You're going to have the tallest, darkest leading man in
- Hollywood," a friend once told Fay Wray. Says the actress: "I
- thought he was talking about Cary Grant." Instead, the future
- scream queen was paired with King Kong, and the rest is hysteria
- . . . er, history. "He's brought a lot of lovely things to me,"
- she says. Still spry at 81, Wray last week launched her
- autobiography, On the Other Hand, which begins with an open
- letter to the King (whereabouts unknown). But don't think she's
- returning to the movies. "Darling," she explains, "you have to
- get up at 4 in the morning. It doesn't thrill me."
